ABOUT SIDLE HOUSE
SIDLE HOUSE is a contemporary art gallery in a century-old barn in Freeport, Maine. The gallery - located one mile from downtown, was opened in 2023 by patroness/gallerist Maddy Vertenten, who seeks to expand human connection and cultivate creativity through exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, and other art-related events.
MISSION: Art is for everybody. Exhibitions should feel inclusive and supportive of all people, the surrounding community, and artists; equally inviting to newcomers, art enthusiasts, and collectors alike. Through contemporary exhibitions in this familiar, agricultural setting - we seek to provide access to a broad audience from many diverse backgrounds and cultural interests.
