KINCAID PEARSON

MAINE

Kincaid Pearson grew up in the rural New Hampshire town of Henniker. He received his BFA at Maine College of Art in 2019 with a focus in Textile and Fashion Design. He thought he wanted to become a fashion designer before leaving college and truly falling in love with painting as he was dabbling with rug making and furniture making. It wasn't until 2023 that he really knew that he was a painter and that is when it all changed and he dove head first into the world of oil painting.

“I create Paintings that focus on the idea of memory. The time of cell phones makes photographing our lives so much easier than it ever has been. This can be both a blessing and a curse. My work deals with the good times of these phone photos or images that may be taken at a moment and forgotten about within the thousands of photos and images that live within your phone. I constantly forget what's on my phone's library because I am snap happy. I dive through my photos to pull images to paint. Bringing those memories to a more tangible reality, larger than we could view before and changing through artistic discretion as the memories also change as they become older within the library in our minds.”
